Three trailblazing young moms (Danielle Dershem, Melissa Mccranels and Nikki Lallatin) are banding together to create something innovative and meaningful, not just for them, but for their children, their families and their community. When speaking with Danielle about her #wiseways project, she excitedly declares:
“Laurel Oak Nature School & Garden caught root when we started to realize that the local public schools weren’t serving our children in the manner that we envisioned for our families, as well as our community. We have joined together to start an outdoor learning environment for our children, families, and the community as a whole. Our vision is to have multi-age group outdoor classes that bring focus to eco-conscious, sustainable living and mindfulness through student-led programs and community volunteer work. Laurel Oak will offer daytime preschool, high school programs, adult and family education opportunities, community garden and various community outreach programs.”
Currently this #wiseways project is comprised of 5 moms collaborating and offering their alternative outdoor education experience in Lantana, Florida. These women are mommies on a mission! They have already done so much to get things going with their venture. They are also hoping to set up a pilot program or day camp though the summer to test out different teaching methods, get their school established and gain credibility in the community. What an awesome #wiseways project, don’t you think?
