Because we believe that change can be a good thing, we’re changing things up!
We’re giving the weekly quotes a break to bring you an introduction to a new trend that’s popped in the 21st Century: collaborative consumption. It’s a small step to keeping us socially and culturally relevant in a fast-paced world!
Don’t own, share
The trend we’re highlighting was dubbed one of 10 ideas that will change the world in 2011 by Time Magazine. “Collaborative consumption” is really just a fancy term for sharing, swapping, bartering, lending and renting. You may heard of it also referred to as the sharing economy. There are a host of business models popping up that offer consumers the benefit of ownership without the burden of having to own something. Just think what that could do for our wallets! Oh, and it’s good for our beloved Mother Earth.
WiseTribe loves the concept. Collaboration is in our DNA. As we reach a certain age where we’re over just owning “stuff,” we think there is enormous benefit to be had by coming together to participate in this trend that’s just beginning to take off.
To better understand the full economic and cultural potential, here’s a short three-minute video illustrating how collaborative consumption can make our lives and world better. Check it out and tell us what you think!
