Are you too old? Do you tell yourself that sometimes? Occasionally? Often?
How about, never? Never is better.
All too often, we sacrifice our unfulfilled dreams and passions to the illusions that we’re just too old; that it is too late to live for our dreams. Practicality weighs heavily. There are always signs that it’s too late to follow ones dreams. I say, ignore the signs. You only get one chance at this life.
“But,” you say, “I would have to go back to a certain age for it to be practical to pursue my heart’s true desires.”
Not so!
Longevity means more chances
WiseTribers are living longer lives compared to previous generations. Our lives are blessed with vibrant and vigorous lifestyles — opportunities are rich to explore geographies, cultures and technologies that we could not previously reach. It is even more important that we continue to live with inspiration and not be sucked under by the “expectations” of the traditional life course.

If you need some psyching up (let’s face it, we all do on occasion), look for role models that have made daring or difficult changes in their lives. Ask them to share their story with you and how they might go about filling your dream if they were you. WiseTribe thinks we need to pursue more of this Peer-to-peer education and mentoring is the foundation of WiseTribe’s values. We wish to help WiseTribers realize more as individuals and as a community.
Easy? No. Rewarding? Yes.
Here are some real examples of WiseTribe members not being defined by the convention of age:
Suzanne Kosmas
Kosmas is a mother of five turned real estate agent. She decided to go back to school at 50, and later was elected to serve in Florida’s 24th congressional district, from 2009 until 2011 at age 65.
Carol Robinson
Robinson went back to school at age 50 to become a social media and digital marketing strategist. She is a freelance consultant to small-to-medium-sized business. WiseTribe has benefitted from her newly acquired skills.
These women are inspirations to many. There are many more. Sure, making changes to pursue ones dreams can be daunting, but with the right plan, proper inspiration and true determination, something as silly as a number shouldn’t hold us back.

Never too late
With your skills, experience and want-to, the world can be yours. Just be sure you don’t tell yourself “I can’t.” Because, you’d be right.
